U.S.S. Excelsior (Prototype II) Issue #158 Nilo Rodis Concept STDC158 Model Diecast Ship (Eaglemoss / Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection)
This concept for the U.S.S. Excelsior was an early design produced by Art Director Nilo Rodis for the movie Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. Designed to differentiate itself from the Enterprise, the four-nacelles seen on this early concept ship eventually made their way on-screen in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Nilo Rodis was an extremely, influential design contributor to the Star Trek universe and credited with co-inventing the Excelsior and the Klingon Bird-of-Prey.
